Woman accused of holding up two restaurants at knifepoint detained by staff

A WOMAN accused of holding up two Perth restaurants at knifepoint has been detained by a staff member at one of the eateries.

Police allege the woman threatened staff members and stole cash from a restaurant on Wanneroo Road, Yokine, about 5.15pm on Monday.

About half an hour later the woman walked into another restaurant on Oxford Street in Leederville and demanded cash but was apprehended by a staff member who called police.

A 31-year-old Belmont woman was charged with armed robbery, attempted armed robbery, obstructing public officers and assaulting a public officer.

She will face Perth Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
