Local watering hole is raising the bar

A LOCAL pub is continuing to build its reputation after being named in the running for nine gongs at the WA Hotel and Hospitality Awards for Excellence.

The Gate Bar and Bistro in Success is in contention for training, operation and dining experience awards.

Bibra Lake theme park Adventure World was the only other City of Cockburn finalist.

It is in the running for the Training Initiative Award, which the Gate Bar and Bistro is also a finalist in.

Australian Hotels Association (WA) chief executive Bradley Woods said the tough competition showed the hospitality sector is going from “strength to strength”.

“Western Australia is fast becoming an international destination, praised for the incredible hospitality it has to offer,” he said.

“2015 has been a great year for Western Australian hospitality – our venues and food and beverage offerings have been recognised nationally and internationally among the best of the best.”

The awards will be held on Monday, November 16.
