Needless to say, the winners were absolutely chuffed to get the recognition.
East Hotel general manager Todd Handy was particularly delighted getting ranked in sixth spot. Last year, it was ranked 18th
"We are very excited about it. It's fantastic news," Handy told the Canberra Times.
We keep a very close eye on our customer reviews. It's very important to us what they have to say and what they tell their friends about.
"It's incredible to be ranked so high. Especially when you look the company we are in.”
He said that apart from the good location, great food and dedicated staff, running a successful hotel was about the team.
"And I'm talking about everyone from our front-of-house staff through to our housekeeping as well," he said.
