Jamie comes to Australia to boost Jamie’s Italian

With the Jamie Oliver Restaurant Group officially bringing back the Jamie’s Italian Australian portfolio, following the collapse of its previous owners, the Keystone Group, the celebrity chef and entrepreneur is coming to Australia to revitalise it.

His visit to Sydney on8–12 May will be launching a new menu at the six Jamie’s Italian restaurants.

As part of the process giving the portfolio a good shakeup, the group will be working closely with local suppliers and producers.

His aim is to give it a much-needed revitalisation that’s substantial.

Oliver said it was long-overdue.

“This is a process I’ve never been through so it’s all very new, but it’s a really happy ending”, Oliver told The AU Review blog. “I wish I could have done it sooner but we got there and it’s to say that every cloud has a silver lining.”

The new menu to be launched by Oliver and his Australian team will include Wild Mushroom Ravioli with thyme, gremolata and veggie parmesan, Oxtail Lasagne with béchamel, mozzarella & parmesan, and Slow-Roasted Porchetta with garlic, chilli and herbs.

And local producers will be closely involved. The line-up includes Joto Fresh Fish, Serendipity Ice Cream, Boulangerie 113 and That’s Amore Cheese. Local.

The producers will also be developing a wine list designed to feature both established and emerging Australian producers alongside Italian classics.

And to celebrate the new menu, and make it really special, Jamie’s Italian plans to offer a signature pasta dish for just $10 throughout May.

Better still, that pasta offering will change every Monday through the month, it will be different every week.

The team is leaving nothing to chance. They’ve even shortened the name of Parramatta’s Jamie’s Italian Trattoria to just Jamie’s Italian.

The aim is to put the popular spot under the same banner as the other restaurants across Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Perth and Sydney.
