Neil Perry’s Burger Project opens in Bourke St Melbourne

Famed Rockpool Bar & Grill chef Neil Perry just keeps expanding in Melbourne.

He has now opened his fourth Burger Project there, located in Bourke Street which is about as central as you can get.

But this time, he has differentiated it from his other Melbourne eateries.

This one has 170 seats  across two levels.

It also has a separate bar, an outdoor dining area and screens showing sports.

And punters will get GPS buzzers, allowing them to wait for their food from the comfort of their table.

And they can refill their drinks from the self-serve soda dispensers. That’s unlimited refills.

Added to the menu of favourites, including the chain’s grass-fed Cape Grim beef patties from Tasmania with chilli salsa, guacamole, lettuce, tomato and sour cream, is a series of limited-edition creations.

These will change every eight weeks.

This will give Perry the opportunity to add a raft of international flavours.

The first one will be The Mexican, served up with guacamole, chilli salsa and sour cream. It’s all designed to be the perfect accompaniment for an ice-cold can of Tecate.

For an Australian touch, the Bourke Street eatery is also serving up Vegemite Burgers combining the classic breakfast spread with Burger Project’s Cape Grim Tasmanian beef patties,  handmade on-site daily.

The Bourke Street store will have a new and improved beer offering.

Diners will be able to sit back and enjoy Mornington and Sydney's Young Henrys which will be offered alongside a rotation of local craft bottles.

And the menu will incorporate suggested burger and beer pairings.

There will be happy hour specials across all the stores.

The provides punters with $5 beers and $10 burger-and-chip combos between 3–6pm weekdays.

The second level of the Bourke Street burger bar is there for anyone looking for a space for events including children’s parties.
