Dine and dash hall of fame
US "dine-and-dash dater" Paul Guadalupe Gonzales whose Tinder modus operandi centred round scarpering and leaving his dates with hefty dinner bills is facing 16 years of prison food, which ironically he will never have to pay for.
For two years straight Gonzales would hook up with women through dating apps and take them out to dinner, only to skip out early leaving his date with the check. He is also up for bailing on the bill for a haircut, so in his defence he was probably less someone who hated women and more someone who hated bills.
Not to be outdone, Australia can also lay claim to cultivating some top dine and dash talent. Serial dine-and-dash queen Lois Loder was accused again this week of leaving a cafe without paying the bill. The Perth woman now faces some jail time for racking up debts of $5000 across 33 fraud offences. That kind of record takes commitment and no small amount of training.
However, the king of done and dashers has to be Queensland rapper 2pec, otherwise known as Terry Peck. In 2017, this true champion consumed $600 of seafood and alcohol at Gold Coast seafood restaurant Omeros Bros. before jumping into the ocean to swim away without paying.
He was eventually caught by police on jet skis. His defence. None. But he did say the lobster was overcooked and overpriced. Legend!
