NOLA’s nightmare as chef fired on busiest night

NOLA Smokehouse and Bar recently went through every restaurant’s worst nightmare when its entire kitchen team walked out during a busy Saturday night service.

The Barangaroo restaurant had 177 diners booked in when management decided to dismiss the head chef over issues that were addressed "on a number of occasions" prior and cancel that night’s service.

Despite the kitchen team walking out in support that night, they returned the next morning for the Sunday lunch service.

"Unfortunately, after careful consideration, we had to let our head chef go on Saturday night and this, combined with a technical fault, meant we had to shut down our evening service," NOLA owner Pete Fischer told Good Food.
