Bendigo’s Golden Square Hotel to reopen

The Golden Square Hotel in Bendigo is being resurrected by restaurateur Simon Lock.

Lock, the owner of The Borchelli Ristorante, is reopening the pub four months after it closed down, saying the previous incarnation “hadn’t worked”

“I’m bringing restaurant-quality food and wine to a hotel,” he told the Bendigo Advertiser. “We’ll also do traditional pub food very well.”

The hotel is expected to open on November 13 offering an extensive premium wine list and a modern Australian menu showcasing local produce
