Bondi’s SHUK heads north
Israeli/Middle Eastern restaurant SHUK is expanding beyond Bondi and heading northwards with two new venues in Chatswood and Elizabeth Bay.
After five years in Bondi and the addition of Shuk Bakery, owners Ariel Hefer, Erez Beker and Yonatan Kalfus say they have searched hard for the right venue to expand their offering.
“Finding the perfect venue for SHUK to grow was more important than how quickly we could expand,” said Kalfus.
Located in the heart of Chatswood on Victoria Avenue, the 100-seat venue was the first to open this week.
Set to open in early January, the Elizabeth Bay café located on Roslyn Gardens will seat 50.
Head chef German Sanchez will continue to lead the team in the kitchen.
“SHUK is known for its Isreali/Middle Eastern classics, we want to hero these and continue to push the boundaries with new dishes” said Sanchez, “We want each venue to have its own personality.”
