Suki sushi bar in Cairns closes after six months
The Suki Sushi Burrito and Poke Bowls in Cairns has closed after just six months in operation.
The franchise outlet at the Smithfield Shopping Centre was co-owned by North Queensland Cowboys player Gavin Cooper.
A Smithfield Shopping Centre spokeswoman said the centre would look for a new tenant to fill the space in the outdoor food court.
“At the moment there is a bit of legal stuff to sort out because they just packed everything up and left,” she told The Cairns Post.
Suki originated in Brisbane with its flagship store opening in 2017 at Southbank’s Grey St dining precinct, while the Smithfield Shopping Centre store was the business’ first Far North venture.
