Long standing Adelaide restaurant placed in administration

Rigoni’s Bistro in Adelaide has been placed in administration.

Trading in various iterations since 1956, the restaurant collapsed under debt, with the Australian Tax Office the major creditor and employees’ superannuation entitlements the second-largest debt owed.

Owner Tony Bailey says he is looking for a buyer, with the restaurant a going concern and “making money”.

“Rigoni’s has been an asset for the city, both from a CBD point of view but also for the culture,” he told InDaily.

“It’s an unfortunate situation We’re looking for a buyer.”

A creditors’ meeting is set down for April 18.
