Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel unveils new look rooms

Sydney’s Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel has unveiled the first stage of its refurbishment with 31 new look rooms.

Owner Fraser Short has been slowly refreshing the art deco venue since buying it in 2012.

Overseen by Sydney interior designer Sibella Court, the rooms have a nautical feel with chestnut wood, pattern rugs, textured cushions, weathered timber, crisp white linens and scientific drawings of blue swimmer crabs from Sydney Harbour all in the mix.

There are also custom artworks from Australian artists Peter Bainbridge and Neil Mallard.

“As a collaborator, she knows the small but crucial details in hotels and how to translate them into inspiring interiors that are also functional,” said Short.

Stage two of the transformation includes the Beach Club kiosk. “We want to further develop this with a beautiful new space and entry into Watsons Bay off Robertson Park,” said Short.
