New Golden Century venue XOPP to open in August

Darling Square’s the Exchange will welcome XOPP by Golden Century in August.

The 160-seat restaurant will feature three private dining rooms and a bar with smaller dishes and shared snacks.

XOPP will offer a contemporary and more playful experience than the flagship Sydney restaurant, which is run by second-generation restaurateur, Billy Wong, son of Eric and Linda Wong of the Golden Century Group.

“XOPP will be a nod to not just an iconic and much-loved signature dish, but to the institution that Golden Century has developed into over the past 30 years," Billy Wong said.

“People always have traditions and stories about dining at Golden Century; whether to celebrate family and friends’ gatherings, birthdays and milestones, or after concerts or late nights out. We want XOPP to be a place where more memories are created and shared.”

XOPP will be located on the mezzanine floor of the new Darling Square building, which is the focal point of the NSW’s Government's $3.4 billion plan to refresh Sydney’s Darling Harbour precinct.

The building is designed by Japanese architectural firm Kengo Kuma and Associates, while XOPP interiors are being designed by Paring Onions Design, based out of Hong Kong and run by Alex Wong, the eldest Wong son and Billy’s brother.

The Exchange will also be home to a ground floor food and beverage destination.
