Jock Zonfrillo’s wine bar closes down after less than a year

Australia-renowned Chef Jock Zonfrillo may be behind Australia’s best restaurant but that wasn’t enough to keep his Adelaide CBD wine bar afloat.

Mallozzi has shut its doors just seven months after it opened. Located near Zonfrillo’s popular restaurant Orana on Rundle St, the wine and spuntino bar was issued a notice of re-entry and termination earlier this month.

The Scottish-born chef styled the bar with a nod to his Italian heritage. But Zonfrillo has his hands full at the moment after announcing that Orana would up sticks along with its entire restaurant team and head to Sydney for one month at the former Longrain restaurant site in Sydney.

The pop-up will operate between August 16 and September 15 and has been two years in the making.
