Palmer unveils Sunshine Coast resort designs

A concept design for the redevelopment of the resort at Coolum.

Concept designs for the redevelopment of billionaire businessman Clive Palmer's Sunshine Coast resort have been unveiled.

The designs being considered for the Coolum resort upgrade were revealed to Sunshine Coast Mayor Mark Jamieson and other local politicians during a private meeting on Thursday.

ABC News has obtained the Coolum resort concept designs.

They include a 20-storey sky needle and two 10-storey beachfront hotels with a casino.

Also being considered is a hovercraft link to Brisbane, a monorail, a giant wheel, aviary and aquarium.
