The Oaks gets $6 million revamp

Oaks Hotel

The Oaks Hotel in Sydney’s Neutral Bay is undergoing a $6 million re-development.

After what marks the biggest upgrade in its 133-year history, the hotel will launch three new venues – a retro sports and games bar, a garden conservatory and a craft bottle shop and takeaway venue.

Housed under the same roof, each venue is set to have its own menu and beverage selection.

Sports bar Taffy’s will launch in time for the Rugby World Cup in September and feature retro games and pop culture features including a Hulk Hogan novelty beer tap and the largest foosball table in NSW accommodating eight players.

The Taffy’s menu will offer a twist on sports snack favourites along with 20 craft beer taps that will rotate monthly and cocktails.

Alala’s garden conservatory will open in October featuring an outdoor Parisian style patio offering a picnic-style menu.

Bars Taffy’s and Alala’s will be connected by the Oaks Bottle Shop and Takeaway which is due to be completed in October. Headed by a dedicated craft beer curator, the shop will feature a communal tasting table that invites guests to “try before you buy”.
