New Italian venue for Sydney’s CBD

A new late-night Italian restaurant will open in Sydney’s Martin Place this October.

Chef and restaurateur Paola Toppi (Bar M) is behind the new eaterie to be called Toppi Martin Place.

“It feels like I’m going back to my roots during what is an exciting and hopeful time for Sydney’s CBD,” she said. “Operators are investing in the area again and we have the opportunity to bring back life and energy to our city.”

Described as the cousin to Bar M (previously Bar Machiavelli), Toppi Martin Place will feature three distinct spaces – a pasta bar offer house-made dishes made in front of guests; a cocktail bar headed by bar manager Matteo Belkeziz; and a restaurant dining room showcasing seafood and pasta.

“I’ve been in this industry for over three decades and am passionate about what small businesses, like ours, contribute to the diverse and vibrant cultural fabric of a city,” said Toppi. “We’re celebrating our family’s history in the area with a fresh and modern concept for the Sydney of today.”
