Gambaro to offload Brisbane hotel and seafood restaurant

The Gambaro family is looking to sell its boutique five-star hotel, seafood restaurant and conference facilities at 33 Caxton St as they focus on the other parts of their hospitality business.

“In the last couple of years our restaurant business has expanded and we’re looking at further expansion,” Donny Gambaro told the Courier Mail.

“In that time we’ve opened another Black Hide Steakhouse restaurant, Persone, our new Italian restaurant in the Brisbane Quarter and there are a couple more coming along.”

Reports say it will sell for between $30 million and $35 million.

The 68-room Gambaro Hotel which is operated by TFE Hotels under the TFE Hotels Collection banner was built in 2014 while the Gambaro Seafood Restaurant has been on the ground floor of the site since 1972.

CBRE Hotels’ Wayne Bunz and Hayley Manvell are marketing the sale, with expressions of interest closing on October 10.
