St Claude's in Woollahra closes without warning

A well-regarded restaurant in Sydney’s eastern suburbs has closed without warning.

St Claude's opened in 2015 in the former home of Woollahra institution Claude's under the helm of executive chef Cameron Johnston.

The restaurant offered well executed French fare that received good reviews, scoring 15/20 by food critic Terry Durack when it opened.

“Together with Stewart Parsons of Bronte Road Bistro, he has restored the two dining rooms to fine-dining luxe, with double-linened tables and that lovely Armani trademark olive green on the walls,” Durack wrote.

"With a chef who knows what he's about, floor staff who are polished yet relaxed, and classy, considered, modern French cooking, St Claude's now casts its own shadow.”

The restaurant's website states it is permanently closed.

“Thank you to all our regulars over the last 4 years,” the website stated.

Agent Zorick Toltsan said the site has “just become available, vacant possession, fully fitted with a PSA".
