NT roadhouse goes on the market for $3m

The Top Springs Hotel in the Northern Territory has been put on the market by former reality television star and cattle baron Milton Jones with an asking price of $3 million.

The outback roadhouse 291 kilometres south of Katherine is surrounded by huge cattle stations and serves as a popular stopping-off point for truck drivers and tourists.

Jones said the decision to sell the hotel was prompted by manager Pauline Haseldine’s desire to retire.

"We've owned it for 13 to 14 years, and it's been a good business. [Haseldine] has been a very good manager, but is now in her 80s," Jones told The Australian Financial Review.

Selling agent Olivia Thompson from Landmark Harcourts said the hotel’s financial returns were "very healthy".

"The main clientele is truckies, tourist, road workers and groups servicing the surrounding Indigenous communities such as health and property maintenance workers," she told The Australian Financial Review.
