Last orders as Hackney Hotel to make way for redevelopment

The Hackney Hotel in Adelaide will close its doors this Saturday with works on a $40 million redevelopment to begin soon.

The historic pub will make way for a six-storey complex with 27 apartments, along with a 72-bed, four-storey hotel and six, two-storey “luxury sky townhouses”.

The hotel’s heritage-listed hotel will be retained and used as a front bar, while the second storey will be converted into a cafe.

Developer V-Three will begin construction on the redevelopment, known as Botaniq, in January with the project taking just under three years to complete.

Speaking to the Adelaide Advertiser, V-Three founding director Wayne Henry said they were “pretty excited about the plans”.

“The luxury sky townhouses are unique to Adelaide, and will provide views to the Adelaide Oval.”
