Plans unveiled for hotel resort at Gold Coast Turf Club

A Victorian developer has unveiled its plans for a hotel resort and residential tower complex at the Gold Coast Turf Club.

Victorian developers Nick and Michael Corcoris are looking to build a three-tower development overlooking the track.

The three towers would include a six-storey hotel with 111 rooms, a 438 sqm function centre overlooking the racecourse and a rooftop restaurant and deck, according to planning documents lodged by Corcoris Group.

Four retail tenancies on the ground level and an infinity pool overlooking the racecourse are also in the plans.

But it’s not the only option on the table with a rival developer also planning a large-scale project at the race course.

Aquis Group, the turf club’s naming-rights sponsor, wants to build a residential and hotel on the Racecourse Drive site’s northern side where the dome currently sits.

Gold Coast Turf Club CEO Steve Lines said it is submitting its business case for a redevelopment to the State Government for approval in the coming days.

“The Turf Club has a masterplan which involves racing infrastructure and non-racing infrastructure,” he told the Gold Coast Bulletin.

“The racing infrastructure plan is all but going to Treasury before Christmas which will include new track upgrades, an all-weather racing track, lights and a tunnel.

“The non-racing infrastructure, entails the opportunity around devolving an on-site hotel and residential facilities.”
