Egyptian restaurant in Adelaide attacked by masked marauders

Footage has emerged of a terrifying attack by three masked men on a small restaurant in Adelaide.

The family-owned restaurant Fel-Fella in Torrensville was attacked by three men wearing balaclavas and armed with hammers, sticks and a pole.

CCTV footage shows terrified patrons as they scramble for cover while the men smash a fridge, some glass and a window. One person was hit on the arm when he approached them.

The men were chased from the restaurant by the owners, one of whom can be seen brandishing a knife.

Landlord Tony Trolio described it as “pretty horrifying”, saying he felt sorry for the owner’s wife and children who were all present during the attack.

"They're a good family, good people," Trolio told 9News.

"He (the owner) just said to me that they were after money and he thought it was just a robbery and then they smashed everything up and left."

The restaurant has since closed until further notice.

Police are hunting for the attackers and believe the incident is not random.
