New owner has big plans for Beach Hotel Byron Bay

The new owner of the Beach Hotel in Byron Bay has flagged a major refurbishment of the venue in 18 months but pledges to keep the community spirit alive.

Moelis Australia Hotel Management took ownership of the venue yesterday, with CEO Dan Brady telling the Gold Coast Bulletin work will begin immediately on upgrading the roof and toilets.

Brady said the venue needed “a fair bit of investment”.

“This is about understanding what the Byron vibe is and what the values are and how we can translate that into a facility people can identify with,” he told the Gold Coast Bulletin.

“We want people to be connected to it and feel good when they walk through the door.”

Changes to the food, beverage and accommodation offerings were also on the cards.

Moelis Australia paid $100 million for the hotel from Impact Investment Group late last year.
