New beachside three-in-one venue to open at Coogee
The newly refurbished Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach is preparing to launch its new three restaurant beachside venue.
Due to open on March 13, the brand-new venue will feature a culinary offering spearheaded by creative director and chef Matthew Butcher, who has previously worked with Shannon Bennett and Gordon Ramsay.
The new three-in-one venue will include open-air casual diner Terrace; formal restaurant Kitchen; and Mexican casual eatery and bar Taqueria. There’s also a private karaoke bar.
Terrace will offer beer, wine, cocktails and bar snacks such as lobster rolls and prawn cocktails served from an Airstream trailer. The casual vibe continues with two-tiered bleachers with views of the ocean and beanbags.
Taqueria will offer soft-shell tacos and Margaritas, while Butcher is also keeping the South American vibe serving nachos made with corn chips, cheddar, salsa and lime cream.
Kitchen will focus on seafood with a Central American theme with dishes including sweet corn tamales served with sea urchin and albacore belly with kaffir lime.
Leading the onsite team is executive chef Scott Eddington, drinks expert Joe Jones and chef Michael Tran.
