Easing of Covid-19 restrictions could see restaurants among first to reopen

Restaurants could be among the first to reopen when Covid-19 restrictions begin to ease.

Speaking to 7NEWS, Public health expert and Associate Professor Adam Kamradt-Scott said Australia may well ease restrictions “progressively” with restaurants, parks and beaches among the first to reopen.

“It will all be contingent on what we see in terms of case numbers,” he said.

But Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Nick Coatsworth said it is “too early to be talking about relaxation at the moment”.

A panel of 80 experts are set to report back to the Federal Government on April 20 to advise on the benefits and risks of easing existing restrictions.
