Woman glassed in Perth pub as social distancing restrictions removed

A young woman has been glassed in the face during a birthday night out in a Perth pub.

The incident happened at the Brass Monkey Hotel in Northbridge just days after social distancing restrictions on bars and pubs were lifted.

The victim, Brooke Jeffers, was taken to hospital suffering cuts to her face and nose.

Jeffers said she didn’t know her assailant, but was grateful her injuries were not worse.

“It could have been a lot worse and a lot more serious,” she told 7News. “The glass could have got in my eyes so I am grateful for that.

“We were only in Brass Monkey for about 10 minutes before it happened – it kind of came out of nowhere and ruined the night.

“I was full of so much adrenaline I actually didn’t feel anything. There was a lot going on and so much blood.”

Police are now trying to track down the attacker who fled the scene after the glassing.
