Pavlovich named AHA Chef of the Year

The AHA’s Tourism Accommodation Australia Awards of Excellence were handed out last week with glass brasserie’s Joe Pavlovich taking top honours of Chef of the Year 2012.

Pavlovich leads a brigade of 26 chefs at one of Australia’s busiest restaurants - glass brasserie - while also maintaining the role of executive chef of the Luke Mangan Group, which includes a portfolio of eight restaurants globally.

Pavlovich was honoured by the award but conceded kitchens are a team sport and everyone contributes to the success of the restaurant.

“It’s a great thing for the team,” he said.

“To be doing so well after seven and a half years of trade, and then be recognised for that is fantastic for all involved here at glass brasserie.”

It didn’t end at Chef of the Year for the Luke Mangan group with glass brasserie at The Hilton Sydney being named Restaurant of the Year as well.

Meanwhile Echoes in the Blue Mountains was named Regional Restaurant of the Year and Botanica Brasserie at the Sheraton on the Park took out Brasserie/Cafe of the year.
