Luxury Queensland outback resort to re-open

Far north Queensland's newest all-inclusive luxury property is reopening.

Nestled on a 28,000-hectare working cattle station in far north Queensland, Mt. Mulligan Lodge is a luxurious escape destination, invoking the spirit of adventure that outback Australia is famous for.

Mt. Mulligan Lodge originally opened in April 2019, but due to Covid restrictions had to close temporarily when all travel came to a halt.

The lodge is part of the Northern Escape Collection, a curated portfolio of boutique sustainable lodges in Queensland with a personal philosophy of “Achieving a better and more sustainable future for all”.

Crafted by the Morris Group, an independent family-run Australian business operating across tourism, hospitality, renewable energy, finance, technology and aviation sectors, the Northern Escape Collection works towards the goal of allowing travellers to experience Northern Australia in its purest form.

It also serves as a way to contribute to sustainable economies in the region.

The Morris Group is behind the Daintree Village Hotel, Daintree Eco Lodge, Cove Lodge – Isle of Portland, Half Moon in the Melbourne suburb of Brighton and The Fox in South Brisbane among other venues.

The reopening of Mt Mulligan is one of the more positive stories to come out of the pandemic and a three night stay at this luxury outback property will set patrons back $3299 per room.

This package is usually valued at up to $5380.

Included in this package are all gourmet meals, select Australian wines, beers, spirits and soft drinks, as well as a $280 lodge credit to spend on premium beverages or exclusive outback experiences, such as ATV safaris, guided tours, chef-prepared gourmet picnic hampers, wildlife spotting and sunset drinks overlooking the escarpment. There's also unlimited use of paddleboards, kayaks and fishing gear.

Bookings are open to July 28 for travel until July 1, 2021.
