Uber Pass delivers the goods for customers and restaurants

Uber is launching a new membership scheme, Uber Pass, that ensures users of its Uber and Uber Eats apps are rewarded with a range of discounts.

On Tuesday, the company said, "We’re making it easier than ever for Australians to harness the full Uber experience."

Australia will be one of the countries in which the membership will be rolled out.

Uber Pass will be available in Australia by the end of the week to millions of customers who already have the Uber app.

Membership costs For $14.99 a month, with users able to access a range of benefits including at least 10 per cent off standard rides and $0 delivery fees for select restaurants on orders above $20.

The same deal will be replicated for selected grocery and convenience stores.

There are also numerous other exclusive perks such as a $20 grocery voucher.

In recent years, Uber Eats has grown to include groceries, alcohol, pharmacy and other delivery services.

These additions have assisted many hospitality businesses to stay in business during the pandemic.

"The Uber platform has become a gateway to the world of e-commerce and small business and an increasingly valuable accessory for everyday life – every hour of the day," the company said in a statement.

"The Uber app is connecting more people with more businesses and opportunities across Australia."
