Armed robbers on the loose as police search continues

Police have released CCTV footage showing the moment two men invaded a North Brisbane pub and held a female staff member at gun point.

The incident happened last week at the Bonny View Hotel on Griffith St, at about 3am on Friday 28 May.

The footage shows two men with covered faces, sneaking around the outside of the venue and pointing a gun at the female employee.

According to police, the gun was later used to strike the woman in the head, leading to bruising of her face.

Officer in Charge of Carseldine’s Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Martin Ziebarth said this was a significant incident die to its highly violent nature. 

“This armed robbery was very violent in nature and we’re very keen to resolve it as soon as possible,” he said.

“We request that people don’t approach these persons if they know who they are, and to instead contact police immediately.”

The search continues for the two men, who both had their heads and faces covered and wore long sleeves and long trousers. They were last seen fleeing the venue along Gympie Rd, heading in the direction of Wakefield St, police say.

One of the attackers is described as approximately 170cm tall, aged around 30 with dark complexion and possibly a New Zealand accent.

The other is describes as Caucasian, aged 20-30 with a proportionate build.
