IHG launches the Vignette Collection, expanding its luxury hotel portfolio

InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) is launching a new luxury leisure brand, Vignette Collection, which will see the company expand its portfolio to 17 hotel brands.

The Vignette Collection will be different to other traditional InterContinental properties in that those in the collection will retain their independence.

This means the hotels within the Vignette Collection will feature their own unique character and approach to luxury and lifestyle and will be less ‘cookie cutter’, while still offering IHG Reward members the loyalty benefits as well as ability to earn and spend points.

The first Vignette Collection properties will be Brisbane’s five-star Hotel X in Fortitude Valley and Thailand’s Pattaya Aquatique hotel.

“We expect to attract more than 100 Vignette Collection hotels in 10 years,” said Keith Barr, CEO of IHG Hotels & Resorts.

Hotel X in Brisbane, the first of the new collection, was chosen for its close proximity to the CBD and because of its “distinctive design and luxurious facilities … ultra-cool art, Avant Garde lighting and exceptional views of the cityscape.”

The Vignette Collection will expand on its current portfolio of 400 luxury and lifestyle hotels including 100,000 rooms.

IHG claims its portfolio is industry's second largest.
