Mövenpick moving into Brisbane ahead of the Olympics

Brisbane will gain a new international hotel brand ahead of the 2032 Olympic Games.

Accor will open its Mövenpick Hotel in Spring Hill, bordering the Brisbane CBD and the Victoria Parklands.

The 15-storey, 96 room hotel will feature luxury interiors, restaurant and bars, a fitness centre and a 25-metre swimming pool.

This will be the third Mövenpick Hotel in Australia and the first in Queensland. Construction is set to begin later in the year and will open its doors in 2024.

The hotel comes just as Australia begins to reopen its international borders.

According to chief executive of Accor Pacific Simon McGrath, the timing of its opening is perfect.

“We are delighted to be bringing a Mövenpick Hotel to Brisbane, Australia’s next Olympic city and one of the country’s most sought after lifestyle destinations,” Mr McGrath said.

“Mövenpick Hotel Brisbane Spring Hill will contribute to the city’s vibrant culinary scene with an outstanding restaurant and bars, while masterfully blending the brand’s Swiss heritage with an unrivalled hospitality experience.”

The grand two-storey foyer will feature eight-metre ceilings and art deco influences with marble columns and terrazzo flooring.

Every room will have sweeping views of the city, while the elevated gardens and greenery will also be a major feature.
