Potts Point’s Bayswater Brasserie is ‘Getting to the Greek’ in a trendy transformation

Sydney’s Bayswater Brasserie restaurant in Potts Point is about to become a Greek restaurant.

The Brasserie has been a mainstay of Potts Point for 28 years.

"It's going to be a Mykonos-style eatery and lounge bar named Eros," says the restaurant’s owner, Ussi Moniz Da Silva.

According to Da Silva, the restaurant will offer more than just a great menu and a fantastic location.

"The bones of the building are amazing. It has a 3.30am licence, so we'll open late, somewhere to kick on to," says Da Silva.

The Greek theme will be prevalent throughout the restaurant.

"We're using lots of white paint," the restaurateur says.

There will also be an olive tree, archways, concrete booths and sculptured walls inspired by  beachside caves.

In 2020, Da Silva opened CBD eatery Meu Jardim which boasts a waterfall, a firepit, French food and a 3am licence.

In 2021 he opened Sinaloa in Double Bay, serving Mexican food and shared plates where customers can assemble their own tacos.

Eros is expected to bring a bit of hype to the Bayswater Rd strip, particularly after the recent arrival of ramen restaurant Bones Ramen.

Eros opens on February 19.
