Intentionally bad service sees Karen’s Diner expand internationally

Aussie restaurant chain Karen’s Diner is set to open in several venues around the world including New York and London.

By definition, a Karen, is a woman who behaves in an entitled and obnoxious manner as well as being demanding in a public setting.

At Karen’s Diner, you will find waiters dishing out payback for all the years of having to serve ‘Karens’.

The first diner opened in Sydney late last year and staff went viral online with displays of their cheeky service.

TV show A Current Affair visited the Melbourne Diner, where reporter Sam Cucchiara received a rude welcome by waitress Kali. 

Kali said there have been many times people have come to Karen’s with no idea what type of a diner it is. 

"I tell them to do their f------ homework," she said.

"As for parents with young kids, "They f------ love it."

And while the service is awful, the food is quite good, with diners telling A Current Affair that they were impressed with the quality of the food. 

The franchise is opening diners in Brisbane and the Gold Coast in the coming weeks and has plans to launch 11 diners in the USA later this year.
