BrewDog set to open new craft beer pub at Pentridge prison with more to follow around the country

Thanks to a new partnership with Australian Venue Co (AVC), Scottish craft beer giant BrewDog is set to expand its brewery and taproom footprint.

BrewDog launched its first venue three years ago in Brisbane, but it has been two years since it promised more.

Now, having partnered with AVC, the company behind Cargo, Kingsleys and The Winery in Sydney; Fargo and Co, State of Grace and The Smith in Melbourne; and Riverland, The Regatta and The Crown Hotel in Brisbane, BrewDog will open further venues across those states.

The expansion will start with a BrewDog experience in Melbourne’s former Pentridge prison. This will be a two-level pub featuring an indoor dining room and lounge bar, a beer garden with its own BrewDog container bar, big screens, and dedicated games area.

Further venues around the country are yet to be announced, however the partnership between the world's largest craft beer bar operator and one of Australia's big pub operators, will span multiple sites.

In a post COVID environment, it is the perfect time for the group to expand on its original Brisbane destination known for its burgers, pizza and wings as well as its craft beers.

The new venues will add to the 102 currently operating around the world including in Mumbai and New Albany (USA), and with huge flagship bars coming soon to Las Vegas and Waterloo (London).

BrewDog Pentridge will open in E Division, 1 Champ Street, Coburg, from spring 2022.
