Humble hairdryer now a luxury hotel experience

The humble hairdryer, available in most hotel rooms around the world has been given a luxury makeover, with one Australian hotel adding it to rooms as part of a luxury experience. 

Hotel brand QT is installing Dyson Supersonic hair dryers in each guest room, with the Corrale straightener available for loan within each guest suite upon request. 

Due to the technology of the hairstyling products, QT will also provide an instruction manual that guides guests to create the perfect look without stepping foot in a salon.

The dryer will cost QT $600 per room, an investment it feels is well worth it as potential guests look for hotels that go that extra luxury mile. 

“At QT, we want to make the ordinary, extraordinary,” QT Hotels & Resorts director of brand Danelle Ayers said.

“[This offering] ensures a highly sought-after signature service experience is available to each guest.” 

The hairdryer cost $86 million to develop and launched in Australia in 2016.
