AHA (NSW) senior executives to meet with western suburbs hoteliers today

As the first batch of power bills flow into the industry post carbon-tax, AHA (NSW) President Scott Leach and AHA (NSW) CEO Paul Nicolaou will meet with Western Suburbs hoteliers in Milperra to discuss issues including rising electricity prices.

A special combined Sydney Metro Sub-Branch meeting will be held at the popular Mill Hotel this afternoon.

Both Mr Leach and Mr Nicolaou said they were keen to attend to hear first-hand the issues facing hoteliers from the Bankstown, Blacktown, Fairfield/Liverpool, Parramatta, St George/Sutherland, Near West/Blue Mountains and Western Suburbs branches

“The Mill Hotel is well recognised for its excellent facilities and services,” Mr Nicolaou said.

“It showcases the best the AHA (NSW) has to offer – it is a true hospitality venue at the heart of its local community.

“The fact we are having this Sub-Branch meeting at the Mill shows the high regard in which the Association holds the establishment, and its owners John and Dean Feros.”

Mr Nicolaou said a range of issues would be discussed at the meeting including the 2015 outdoor smoking legislation and the rising cost of electricity for venues.

“I enjoy getting around NSW and this is our chance to hear from hoteliers in the area about the issues that are of concern to them – especially electricity prices,” he said.

“Hotels are integral part of any community and nowhere is that more true than in the western suburbs.”

AHA (NSW) is made up of more than 1700 members, it employs 75,000 people and directly donates $25 million to sporting, community and charity groups each year.
