Melbourne pizza shop owner forgives teenage ‘eat and run’ thieves

The teenagers that did a runner from a Melbourne pizza shop in early October, have been invited back by the owner despite leaving him with a $500 unpaid bill.

Twelve young men had ordered pizzas, pasta, desserts and drinks at the Coburg pizza shop back on 8 October.

They fled without paying, forcing the co-owner of Old School Pizza and Stonegrill, Kamal Soueid, to change the way outdoor diners are served.

"I understand kids are kids, I just hope that they cannot do this to other people, because it does have an effect," Soueid said.

The getaway, which was caught by CCTV, was posted on Tik Tok and went viral, hitting four million views in only two days.

Souied said he doesn't want to press charges, even though police have been investigated.

"Gents, I just wanted to let you know, we forgive you here at Old School Pizza, but we just hope you've learnt your lesson," he said.

"You're welcome back here, but an apology would be nice."

One member of the pack has come forward with his mother, after

Soueid spoke to A Current Affair.

While his mother offered to pay, Old School Pizza declined the offer sating he hoped the boys had learned their lesson.

The restaurant will now look into pay as you order technology for its outdoor dining area.
