Hemmes to launch a Totti’s restaurant at the Lorne Hotel

The coastal Victorian town of Lorne will be the new site for Merivale’s iconic and very popular Sydney restaurant Totti’s.

Once open the Justin Hemmes run Merivale will have five Totti’s Italian diners including Totti's Bondi, Bar Totti's, Totti's Rozelle and Totti's Pasta Bar at Allianz Stadium.

The fifth venue in Lorne is slated to open in February 2023 and marks the first part of Merivale's revamp of the 145-year-old historic Lorne Hotel on the Great Ocean Road, which Merivale acquired in May 2021.

Totti’s Lorne will be similar to the Bondi venue marked by the coastal location with sweeping views of the ocean.

Executive chef Mike Eggert is currently working with Lorne Hotel's executive chef Matt Germanchis on the newest venture and patrons can expect the sought-after antipasti, the wood-fired oven, house-made pasta and the famed puffy wood-fired bread.

If it’s a drink you are after, there will be a focus on local Victorian winemakers and producers.

"Totti's is a restaurant where you can walk off the beach for a quick bite and glass of wine or stay for a long lunch with friends and families, which fits Lorne to a tee," Eggert said in a statement.

"It is an amazing opportunity to bring Totti's laidback style and signature dishes to one of the most iconic coastal locations in Australia that is Lorne."

The restaurant will be located on the Lorne Hotel's ground floor, with bookings and walk-ins available.
