Celebrity chef Poh Ling Yeow takes over QT menu

Celebrity chef Poh Ling Yeow is taking over the menu at QT Melbourne and will create a temporary afternoon tea menu that will include a sushi train in the lobby.

This will be the first restaurant takeover for the author, TV host and MasterChef alumni.

Diners will not be served by sushi train but can enjoy matched cocktails are by whisky brand The Singleton.

"I haven't had people sit down and dine on my food for a few years," Poh told Good Food.

"It's going to be really nice to serve food in a restaurant setting again."

Poh’s JamFace cafe in Adelaide's Central Market closed in 2019. Currently, she is running a popular takeaway stall at the Adelaide Showgrounds Farmers' Market.

"I'm excited that diners at QT will get to sit down to eat my food," she said.

While Poh has designed the menu, she will not be on site.

Diners at QT can enjoy French fries served with an anchovy dipping sauce, chawanmushi – steamed savoury custard – drizzled with flavoured oil.

"And you can't go wrong with a chicken bao with kimchi and Kewpie mayo," Poh said.

For dessert there are strawberries and cream served Italian-style with basil and balsamic vinegar.

Snacks will set diners back from between $8-$15 and cocktails are $18.

The Singleton's Delicious Discoveries at QT Melbourne runs Thu-Sun 2pm-6pm from February 2 until May.
