16-year-old girl shot becomes shooting victim at the Toowoomba Hotel

An 18-year-old woman has been charged with grievous bodily harm and multiple weapons-related offences after a 16-year-old girl was shot at the Toowoomba Hotel.

The list of charges against Karleeah Marie Jensen is extensive and includes grievous bodily harm, wounding, dangerous conduct with a weapon, unlawful possession of weapons (firearm) and authority required to possess explosives.

Jensen did not attend the Toowoomba Magistrates Court but has not applied for bail and remains in custody.

Two people were injured when the firearm was discharged. Police were called and a crime scene established.

A 16-year-old girl suffered a serious injury to her arm. She is in a stable condition.

A 37-year-old woman was also injured, suffering chest and arm injuries. She too, is in a stable condition.

The incident occurred at the Annand St CBD hotel during a clash between a group of people known to each other.

Evidence is expected to be provided to the teenager's defence lawyer by 22 March.

Jensen is expected to return to court on 12 April when the case resumes.
