Man dies after brawl with bouncers

Police descended on the Kealba Hotel in Melbourne suburb St Albans after a brawl involving bouncers turned fatal.

Homicide detectives are now investigating the incident between a 24-year-old male patron and the pub’s security staff. They will wait for post-mortem results to determine cause of death before proceeding further.

Forensic specialists have searched the scene for evidence.

“Police arrived and commenced CPR but the man died at the scene,” Victoria police said.

Detectives will investigate whether the man's death could have been caused by a medical episode.

No charges have been laid and the cause of the fight is yet to be determined, although witnesses have told channel 9, the deceased man was refused entry and was 'acting erratically and banging on the doors'.

Witnesses have been urged to come forward to police with any information about the man's death.
