Restaurant brawl in Perth sees eight people charged with 25 offences

A huge brawl outside a Parkwood restaurant in Perth has led to eight people being charged with 25 offences.

Police allege the fight broke out at the restaurant about 9pm on July 15.

The restaurant sustained minor damage as did a parked car, before the brawl moved to a nearby park. Children inside the restaurant were moved away for their safety.

“During the altercation several people were injured with two men in their 40s taken to hospital,” a police spokesperson said.

“One sustained a broken leg and fractured eye socket and another person sustained a fractured skull. They both required extensive hospital stays.”

Cannington detectives charged a 22-year-old man from Bibra Lake with three counts of common assault, one count of grievous bodily harm, and one count of assault occasioning bodily harm. He will appear before the Armadale Magistrates Court again on September 22.

Other charges include an 18-year-old man for three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of grievous bodily harm; 35-year-old woman for assault and criminal damage charges; an 18-year-old man for common assault; a 23-year-old man for assault and criminal damage charges; a 24-year-old man for thee counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count each of common assault and carried an article with intent to cause fear.

A 22-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with criminal damage and will face court this week.

Finally, a 17-year-old youth was charged with common assault and was referred to a juvenile justice team.

All adults will face the Armadale Magistrates Court at a later date.
