The licensee of a pub which served a patron the equivalent of 35 standard drinks, has been banned from holding a liquor licence for two years.

The Gladstone Hotel at Stockton allegedly served the man two schooners of beer and one shot over six and a half hours in March 2021.

He was reportedly carried unconscious from the venue.

For the discretion, licencee Tracey Keegan was banned by the NSW Independent Liquor & Gaming Authority from holding the positions of liquor licensee and approved manager, as well as from being a close associate of a licensee, for two years.

The decision was made following a complaint that bar staff continued to serve the man alcohol when he was visibly intoxicated. It is alleged, the venue failed to call for medical help after he fell over several times in the bar.

The authority found Keegan had "failed to put appropriate measures in place to prevent this serious intoxication incident from occurring".

"In consideration of the seriousness of incident and the harm experienced by the patron, we agree with the complainant that disciplinary action is warranted in this instance," the report said.

The hotel's liquor licence has reportedly been transferred to a new licensee.
