Moo Moo restaurant co-owner glams up for awards ahead of cocaine court date
Moo Moo steak restaurant co-owner Autumn Adams stepped out for the annual restaurant and catering awards recently ahead of a court date where she faces cocaine possession charges.
The Gold Coast restaurateur looked glamorous for the awards as she joined staff at The Star Gold Coast on Monday night.
Brisbane and Broadbeach’s Moo Moo The Wine Bar + Grill venues were nominated for best Steak Restaurant - Formal in the Queensland Hostplus Restaurant and Catering awards.
Adams catering business, Moo Moo 2 U Catering, was also a Wedding Caterer finalist.
Adams posted her congratulations to all winners on social media, writing: “A night out celebrating Team Moo Moo. No wins this year but all very proud finalists and too many bubbles of course.
“Congratulations to the winners.”
However, that’s where the glamour ends.
Along with her husband Steve, the pair was charged with drug offences following a police crackdown on an alleged cocaine trafficking ring.
Autumn faces possession charges, while Steve faces supply and possession allegations.
The couple said they were taking the matter seriously but denied being the target of the investigation.
The wider police operation, dubbed Operation Victor Mosquito, has seen eight people charged. Three of those charged with trafficking, supply, and possession of cocaine are Mathew Ian Lalic, 35, Kirsty Wallbanks, 30, and Anthony James Hood, 60.
As for the award winners, Miss Moneypenny's claimed the top prize for Contemporary Australian Restaurant - Formal, while Green Fields Bar & Restaurant (TAFE Queensland Robina Campus) took home the award for Contemporary Australian Restaurant - Informal.
Little Truffle Dining Room & Bar in Mermaid Beach was named Best European Restaurant. Georges on Broadbeach won the Italian Restaurant - Informal category, and its sister restaurant, Georges on Sorrento in Bundall, was awarded Best Pizza Restaurant.
Cavills Steakhouse and Rooftop Bar in Runaway Bay secured the Steak Restaurant - Informal title. Finally, Metabar in Coolangatta received an Excellence Award.
