Le Yeahllow expands to iconic former Black Star Pastry location in Melbourne’s CBD

Le Yeahllow, Melbourne's leading artisan patisserie, is thrilled to announce the opening of its second CBD store, taking over the iconic Black Star Pastry site on Driver Lane. The new store marks a significant milestone for the brand, which has quickly established itself as a favourite among dessert enthusiasts since the launch of its first brick-and-mortar store less than a year ago.

Samsky Yeung, founder of Le Yeahllow, expressed his excitement about the new location: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the love Melburnians have shown us, and taking over such an iconic site is an incredible opportunity. Our goal has always been to push the boundaries of what dessert can be, and this new space gives us the perfect platform to share our creations with even more people.”

Le Yeahllow first made a splash in 2021 when it acquired Adriano Zumbo’s renowned South Yarra patisserie, cementing its place in Melbourne’s competitive dessert scene. Known for its meticulously crafted cakes, the brand has since gained a loyal following for its creative flair and commitment to exclusively using premium ingredients.

Signature desserts such as the Jeff Koons-inspired Balloon Puppy, and surrealist Le Mandarin, which resembles a freshly picked mandarin, have become synonymous with Le Yeahllow’s Is It Cake?-esque aesthetic. Their best-selling Mango Chiffon Cheesecake continues to showcase Le Yeahllow’s unique flair for combining visual artistry with bold injections of flavour.

In an industry facing frequent closures, Yeung and Head Pastry Chef Steven He have stayed focused on innovation. “We believe in pushing creative limits while using the highest-quality ingredients,” said Yeung. “That’s what keeps people coming back.”

The team regularly delight customers with limited-edition monthly offerings, which reflect the brand’s commitment to creativity. To celebrate the takeover of the Black Star Pastry site, Le Yeahllow is unveiling a new hyper-realistic creation inspired by the famous Dubai chocolate bar. Le Yeahllow’s Barre de Chocolat, will come in four renditions: Original MilkChocolate YeahllowWhite Raspberry and Pistachio Luxe. These exclusive cakes will be available in-store as part of their grand opening celebrations.
