Dozens poisoned after eating raw almonds

Woolworths almondsAbout 30 people across the country have fallen ill with salmonella poisoning after eating what are believed to be contaminated raw almonds.

Woolworths has announced a national recall of its own brand of almonds.

The WA Health Department says three Western Australians are among the 30 people affected.

It says symptoms of salmonella poisoning include diarrhoea, fever and abdominal cramps.

It is urging anyone with symptoms to seek medical help.

Woolworths says they are recalling their own brand of almonds as a precaution.

The affected batches have best before dates of 05/02/13, 06/04/13, 07/04/13 or 12/04/13.
