Chef injured in Chinese restaurant blast

A chef has been taken to hospital with burns after an explosion in the kitchen of the Chinese restaurant he was working in.

The fire brigade says they were called to the restaurant after a gas cylinder exploded at the Erina Fair shopping centre on the New South Wales central coast about 5:00pm.

The blaze was quickly extinguished and the man was transported to hospital for treatment.
