SPC Ardmona workers stop work

SPC Ardmona says it will continue to negotiate with workers at its Kyabram factory after they held two eight-hour stoppages over work contract talks yesterday.

The company says while it recognises its staff's right to take the protected industrial action, it is disappointed they have escalated the negotiations in such a tough business climate.

SPC Ardmona says since a vote of workers rejected a new work agreement in September, the company has proposed two offers which it says included moderate but fair increases in wages and allowances.

SPC Ardmona employees at the Shepparton and Mooroopna facilities will vote on their enterprise bargaining agreement today.
